One doesn’t usually expect to find a rip roarin’ western party in eastern New York. Artie, one of the members at Juniper Woods Clothing Optional Nudist Recreational Park & Campground, sponsored just such a party while we were visiting the club. He generously provided a steak and crab leg feast free to both members and visitors. A wild west town as well as prizes for the best costume and the best decorated “wagon” set the mood.

Juniper Woods lives up to its billing as a “Family Campground”. Youngsters enjoyed splashing in the pool with their parents and frolicking on the nearby playground equipment when they were ready to dry off. Tents, RVs, and rental units accommodated everyone.

Located not far from many interesting sights, this club is a good launching point for exploration. The Culinary Institute of America (fabulous restaurants), Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt’s homes, museums, and a Vanderbilt mansion are just a few of the choices available. Some visitors won’t want to leave this lovely club for even a few hours while others will enjoy the outside attractions. Either way, a stay at Juniper Woods during its warm weather season is guaranteed to be fun!
