News  from the President—Farewell

As I had over the gavel to the newly-elected President of AANR-East, Jim Lane, I want to thank all of you for the encouragement, support, assistance and the privilege of serving you over the past four years.

What an incredibly exciting time it has been! AANR-East has strengthened our government affairs program, participated in one of the most enormously successful and exciting public relations programs in our 78 year history, created a marketing consultant program to assist our clubs and a marketing team to help promote AANR. We have made enormous strides in our use of technology to communicate both internally and externally. Our communications programs have been enhanced to reach out to our clubs and members. A professionally designed and implemented website is providing interesting and amusing material for the newbie nudist, and easy access to official documents and marketing resources for members and clubs.

My original three goals have been met, if not concluded. The AANR-East Board of Directors and committees are operating with professional effectiveness and accountability. Dozens of volunteers have been added to our teams. The Internal Affairs investigative process has been established in alignment with professional ethics and management, and formalized in our ruling documents. The effort to increase and improve communications has seen major improvements.

Naturally, there are still many ways in which we can further these goals, and many challenges yet to confront. However, we can be justly proud of the fine work achieved in these years, and face the future with confidence and determination.
