December 8, 2008—AANR Education FoundationNews from the President—AANR Education Foundation
Most of us have a particular charity that we support with our hearts and our funds. As a cancer survivor, I always manage to provide some level of support to cancer research organizations. Of course, at this time when most of us are also experiencing the need for financial restraint, it is not easy to do so. In making a decision about charitable donations, it only makes sense to choose one from which you receive personal satisfaction and benefit from tax deductions. The AANR Education Foundation meets this criterion. Your gift to the Foundation enables us to expand public education about nude recreation, provide scholarships to deserving students, and provides a tax benefit. At the current time, a donation to the Foundation also enters you in a raffle for a cruise on the Bare Necessities FantaSea Fest cruise! In planning your giving, keep in mind that a tax deduction that places you in a lower tax bracket means you are donating money to a cause you believe in, instead of paying more taxes. Your gift to the AANR Education Foundation can take many forms. An outright gift of cash, securities, personal property, real estate, life insurance, or residence/farm is irrevocable and most donations have impacts on current taxes. The donation of securities, personal property and real estate can help a donor avoid capital gains tax. With life insurance, the AANR Education Foundation would become the beneficiary of the policy and the donor would receive a current income tax deduction of the amount paid in premiums for the year. Other types of gifts can be a charitable remainder trust (CRT), a wealth replacement option, a charitable lead trust, or a pooled income fund. Your tax advisor and/or financial planner can advise you which is best for you. Why should you give to AANR as opposed to other deserving charitable organizations? After all, you are already supporting AANR in an important way through your membership dues. Your dues pay for the many benefits of membership, including an Association of dedicated individuals working 365-days-a-year to protect your nudist rights and advocate on your behalf. But there are so many other services dues alone cannot provide, including youth scholarships and widespread public education. Every positive article about nude recreation that educates people about the wholesome aspects of nude recreation brings you that much closer to acceptance of the lifestyle we all love so much. So consider giving yourself a double benefit this holiday season—a tax benefit, and an additional strength to nude recreation. Follow this link to make a contribution that makes a difference.
